Kindcentrum Balkbrug

Welcome to Kindcentrum Balkbrug, located at De Omloop 2 in the centre of Balkbrug. We are a child centre where education and childcare come together under one roof. Together with Stichting Welluswijs we form one team with one pedagogical plan for all children from 0 to 13 years. For the very youngest we offer the toddler playgroup ‘Het Mierennest’ at this location, specially designed for children aged 2 to 4. In Het Mierennest we work in a fixed morning group Monday to Friday from 08:30 to 12:30. We use a horizontal group structure: the toddlers are with peers of the same age, so that we can tailor activities precisely to their developmental stage. Our pedagogical staff guide the children in table games, building in the corners, role-play in the home corner and of course lots of outdoor play. We have our own small farm where the toddlers get to know animals and learn to take care of nature. There is also a creative carpentry corner where they can let their imagination run wild with wood, hammers and screws. The toddler programme prepares your child for primary school. Together we practise waiting for your turn, sharing, following a daily rhythm and working in a circle. At the same time we stimulate language development and fine motor skills through targeted activities. Our aim is to make the transition from toddler playgroup to school as smooth as possible so that your child starts primary school with confidence.
