Stepping Stones

Welcome to After-School Care Stepping Stones, located inside the Stepping Stones primary school building at Notebomenlaan 137 in Utrecht-Oost. We are a bilingual after-school care centre where our team speaks both Dutch and English fluently. As soon as the school bell rings, children come straight to our bright, spacious after-school area, which we share with the toddler group. We always start with a shared moment: chatting about the school day over a snack and something to drink. After that, children choose their own activities. Every day we offer a varied programme: creative craft corners, science and technology experiments, music and dance, sports and games in our own gym or on the large outdoor playground with climbing equipment and a sandpit. We regularly cook and bake in our kitchen unit, and at least once a month we go on an excursion or organise a joint activity with another Kind&Co location. During holidays we run a festive holiday programme packed with themed days and trips. Our pedagogical approach is based on Kind&Co ludens’ Pedagogical Heart: children feel safe and seen here, are given space to explore and learn to live together in our mini-society. We work in vertical groups, so children of different ages learn from one another. The after-school care is only open to pupils of Stepping Stones primary school, ensuring a seamless transition from school to after-school care. We are open every weekday after school and all day during study days and school holidays. Together we make every day a celebration!
