Jan & Alleman

Welcome to Jan en Alleman, our daycare centre on Paardenmarkt in the heart of Delft. We share the building with Ipse, an organisation for people with intellectual and/or physical disabilities. As good neighbours we sometimes use each other's spaces and occasionally do things together such as singing songs or flower arranging. At Jan en Alleman we love openness: we have many spaces with sightlines and as soon as you are able, you are free to explore the spaces. You can then play with various materials and choose for yourself whether you want to participate in activities. In the baby group it is wonderfully quiet and we do activities that help you discover your own body: looking, listening, feeling and tasting. The bigger you get, the more you can discover: large blocks to build with, listening to a beautiful story being read aloud, crafting with paint, paper and fabric, and exploring the garden where sand, water and branches form a whole different world. Or would you rather play inside with that big cardboard box? A little boy crawls out. "We're taking the boat to Ireland," he says. "Are you coming with us?"
