it Krobbehûs

Welcome to it Krobbehûs, a small-scale toddler care centre run by Stichting Kinderopvang Friesland in Franeker. Located at IJsbaanweg 4, within the primary school OBS de Opslach, we provide a nurturing play-and-learn environment for up to 14 children aged 2 to 4. At it Krobbehûs we challenge toddlers by offering more than standard toys. We select materials that let children create their own play and regularly refresh our selection. This approach sparks imagination, independence and discovery while supporting every developmental area – language, motor skills, social interaction and creativity – through play. Our programme follows early childhood education (VE) principles, ensuring children not only enjoy their time with us but also receive a solid foundation for primary school. Thematic work, stories, songs and hands-on exploration provide structure and age-appropriate challenges. Because we keep group sizes small, every child is known individually and we can tailor guidance to their needs. Our qualified staff offer warm, professional care in a homely atmosphere. Parental involvement is encouraged; parents are always welcome to visit or participate. In short, it Krobbehûs is a place where toddlers play, discover and grow with joy – taking their first confident steps toward school.
