Welcome to the daycare centre of IKC ’t Kompas, located at Valreep 69 in the green Lewenborg district of Groningen. We are part of the VCOG foundation and provide care for children aged 0 to 4 in a warm, safe and stimulating environment. Our pedagogical plan focuses on helping every child grow in self-confidence and curiosity. We use horizontal groups so that activities and guidance match each child’s developmental stage. We offer a wide and well-considered range of activities: toddler gym, music for babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers, sand and water play, yoga, creative sessions in our studio and daily outdoor play in our own garden. We also make regular excursions into the surrounding nature. Early childhood education programmes such as Kaleidoscoop and Piramide are used to stimulate language, numeracy and social skills through play. For the youngest children we provide quiet moments, bottle feeding on request and a separate sleeping room with cots. Nappies, wipes and care products are included; you do not need to bring anything. Warm, fresh meals and healthy snacks are provided by Madaga, adapted to any allergies or dietary requirements. Our team of qualified pedagogical staff observe and discuss your child’s development with you during regular parent meetings. We value parental involvement: through our newsletter and theme table at the entrance we keep you informed about our themes and activities.
