IKC 't Holthuus

Welcome to the daycare centre of IKC ’t Holthuus, located at Ot en Sienpad 3 in the heart of Huissen. We are part of Skar and work closely with the primary school within one Integral Child Centre. The moment you step inside you will feel our homely atmosphere: bright spaces in warm, natural colours and a children’s studio where creativity is given free rein. Our daycare centre is organised into three age-specific groups: a baby group (0-1.5 years), a toddler group (1.5-2.5 years) and a pre-school group (2.5-4 years). We do not follow the calendar blindly; instead we look at your child’s development. When your child is ready to move on, we make the transition at the right moment, in close consultation with you. Outdoor play is just as important to us as indoor activities. We go outside every day, because “it is always good weather to play outside”. Our adventurous outdoor area features a mud kitchen, a large sandpit, wooden stepping stones and exciting discovery corners. Together with the school we take care of chickens and rabbits in the IKC garden, so children learn about nature and the importance of care in a playful way. For play materials we deliberately choose open-ended resources such as shaving foam and flour. Sustainable and highly educational, because they stimulate children’s imagination and inquisitiveness. Our team of pedagogical staff is ready to give every child the personal attention they deserve, so your child can develop at his or her own pace in a safe and familiar environment.
