IKC 't Holthuus

Welcome to the daycare centre of IKC ’t Holthuus, located at Ot en Sienpad 7 in the heart of Huissen. We are part of the Integral Child Centre ’t Holthuus, where daycare, primary school and after-school care blend seamlessly together. Our location welcomes up to 42 children aged 0 to 4 years and feels like a second home for every child. The moment you step into our spacious, bright group rooms you experience the warm, homely atmosphere we have created with so much care. Natural colours and an open layout invite children to play, explore and grow. We deliberately use open-ended materials such as shaving foam and flour – sustainable and endlessly educational. In our children’s studio the youngest artists have all the space they need to experiment with colour, shape and texture. The outdoors is at least as important as the indoors. Every day we go outside, because at our centre the weather is always good for playing. Our adventurous outdoor area offers a mud kitchen, a large sandpit, a crawl tunnel, wooden stepping stones and exciting discovery corners. Together with the school we take care of chickens and rabbits in the IKC garden; this way children learn respect for animals and nature from an early age. Our pedagogical team consists of enthusiastic, committed and highly trained childcare professionals who give every child personal attention. We carefully observe, analyse and document each child’s developmental process so that we can meet his or her unique needs and pace. We are inspired by the schools of Reggio Emilia in Italy: ‘A child speaks a hundred languages’. We translate these infinite possibilities into thematic and project-based work in which children discover things for themselves and take initiative. For the very youngest we provide bottle feeding, bread meals and healthy snacks. There is always plenty of fresh fruit and drinks available. We take allergies and other dietary wishes into account. The sleeping areas are quietly and comfortably furnished so that every child can rest when needed. Half-day care is possible and flexible childcare is an option. In short: at our daycare centre your child has all the space to discover the world at his or her own pace, surrounded by warm care and professional guidance.
