Basker IKC - Platanenlaan

Welcome to KDV IKC Platanenlaan, part of Zonnekinderen and located at Platanenlaan 1A in the centre of Zevenaar. Since 24 August 2020 our renewed, sustainable building has provided day-care for up to 32 children, divided into two horizontal core groups: one for the youngest (0-2 years) and one for toddlers (2-4 years). This structure allows our experienced pedagogical staff to follow and stimulate every child’s development in a familiar, safe environment. As an Integral Child Centre we work closely with primary schools Lindenhage and Het Kofschip and with the after-school care located in the same building. This collaboration creates a seamless continuum from 0 to 13 years, letting children keep the same trusted surroundings and familiar faces. Our site is centrally located near the shopping centre and main roads, and offers generous opening hours that match parents’ working times. Outside, children enjoy a richly equipped green playground with climbing trees, a water-play area, play houses, a play hill, climbing equipment and tree trunks. This natural setting invites risky play and discovery: children climb, balance, explore water and learn to push their boundaries in a playful way. Safety is always taken into account and, as we like to say, we keep “plenty of dry socks” on hand for when the adventure gets a little wet. KDV IKC Platanenlaan uses early childhood education (VVE), so from an early age children work on language, numeracy and social skills through play. We offer a warm, homely atmosphere in which every child is seen and heard and can develop at his or her own pace.
