Welcome to IKC Jan Ligthart, a public Integrated Child Center located in the Babberspolder district of Vlaardingen. Our location at Plein Emaus 6 provides a warm and safe environment where children aged 0 to 4 can play, learn and grow. As a daycare center (KDV), we are part of a larger whole where childcare and education seamlessly connect. Your child's wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do. We work from four pillars: Science & Technology, Citizenship and Society, Art & Culture and Sports & Games. These pillars come to life in our daily activities, tailored to the developmental stage of young children. Our childcare professionals offer a rich variety of activities using the principles of the Peaceful School. We believe in the power of collaboration and see parents as our partners in your child's development. Our KDV features modern facilities specially designed for the youngest children. We have separate sleeping areas where your child can rest peacefully, a safe indoor space with high-quality toys and a spacious garden where children can play and discover nature. For the youngest ones, we have baby groups with specially trained staff who ensure a secure attachment relationship. We provide diapers, wipes and care products, allowing you to work worry-free while your child is in good hands. We work with horizontal groups, where children come together in age groups. This provides peace and familiarity for your child. Our toddler care already introduces children to primary school through shared themes and activities. During the transition from toddler care to group 1/2, a warm handover takes place between our childcare professionals and the teachers. We use the Parro app for communication with parents, keeping you informed about your child's development. At IKC Jan Ligthart, we believe it's important that every child can develop optimally. We offer preschool education (VVE) and work with a clear pedagogical policy outlined in our KDV pedagogical work plan. Our staff are ready to give your child a wonderful day full of discoveries, play and development.
