IKC Ichthus

Welcome to IKC Ichthus, located at Steenen Dijck 4 in the centre of Maassluis. We are an Integral Child Centre where education and childcare blend seamlessly. Our daycare welcomes babies and toddlers from 0 to 4 years in a safe, homely environment. A fixed team of childcare professionals and teachers work as one, so your child feels at home from day one. Our baby and toddler groups are horizontally structured: babies (0-2 years) and toddlers (2-4 years) are cared for separately, allowing us to tailor activities and care to each child’s developmental stage. We follow the Early Childhood Education programme ‘Startblokken’ to stimulate language, numeracy and social skills through play. Outdoor play is important: our own garden offers plenty of space to climb, build sandcastles and explore nature, and we regularly visit the nearby park and petting zoo. Daily care is well arranged. Bottle feeding is given on parents’ request, fresh fruit and drinks are available all day, and lunch consists of a healthy bread meal. For children with allergies or special dietary needs we consult parents personally and adapt the menu. Each group has a separate sleep room with cots or toddler beds for rest time. We keep parents informed through the Schoolpraat app, sharing photos and short updates about your child’s day. At IKC Ichthus we want every child to feel safe and loved. We work from an open, Protestant-Christian perspective where every child is welcome. Together with you as parents we create a warm second home your baby or toddler will love to come to.
