IKC het Duet (buitenschoolse opvang)

Welcome to the after-school care (BSO) of IKC het Duet, located at Prinses Christinalaan 120 in the heart of Uithoorn. We are part of Stichting Wijzer aan de Amstel and work closely with primary school Het Duet within one modern, integrated child centre. Our BSO groups are specially designed for children aged 4 to 13 and are situated right next to the kindergarten classrooms, making the transition from school to after-school care only a few steps away. After school our qualified pedagogical staff pick the children up from their classrooms. Because we share facilities with the school, children can immediately use the library, the studio, the kitchen/dining area, the gym and our challenging outdoor space with plenty of greenery. Every afternoon is dedicated to relaxation, play and development. We organise sports and games, arts and crafts in the studio, cooking and baking in the kitchen and regularly go on excursions in the neighbourhood or further afield. Children who wish to sign up for a workshop can choose from a wide range, including dance, drama, technology and nature exploration. As our team also supports classes in the morning, children see familiar faces both at school and during BSO. This continuity provides calm and strengthens the bond. For parents who need to start work early we offer pre-school care from 7:00 a.m.; children arriving before 8:00 a.m. can have breakfast with us before we take them to class. We use both horizontal and vertical group structures: children can play in age groups and in mixed settings, allowing them to learn from each other and discover natural leadership roles. Our pedagogical vision is fully aligned with that of the school: we follow the principles of the Peaceful School, in which children learn to resolve conflicts themselves and support each other through child mediators. In this way we create a safe, social community in which every child is given space to grow at his or her own pace. Our doors are open 52 weeks a year, including school holidays.
