IKC Het Balkon

Welcome to the daycare centre of IKC Het Balkon, located at Het Lage Licht 15 in Maassluis. As part of UN1EK, we provide full-day care and toddler care for children from 0 to 4 years at this location. We work with horizontal groups based on the Startblokken vision: a baby group (0-1/2 years) and a toddler group (1/2-4 years). This allows us to closely follow and stimulate each child’s development. Our qualified staff offer age-appropriate activities that match your child’s stage of development. We prepare children in a playful way for a smooth transition to primary school. Early childhood education (VVE) is used to stimulate language, numeracy and social skills from an early age. English lessons are also part of our programme: from a young age, children are introduced to a second language in a playful way. The location has room for up to 56 children and features its own outdoor playground. Indoors, there is a separate sleeping area for the youngest children, allowing them to rest while the toddler group is engaged in activities. We operate a continuous schedule, ensuring a seamless connection between childcare and education. This strengthens the sense of community and makes the day predictable and familiar for your child. In addition, we run a toddler playgroup two mornings a week. This is an accessible way to get to know our approach and to let your child get used to a larger group in a playful manner.
