Welcome to To Be Kind, location IKC de Wegwijzer Hoofdland – KDV, situated at Hoofdland 2 in Zwijndrecht. As part of To Be Kind, we provide Christian day-care for children aged 1 to 4 at this location. Our toddler group ‘De Girafjes’ is housed in a spacious, bright classroom with large windows and direct access to a new, secure playground. A fixed team of pedagogical staff and a team leader ensure every child experiences familiarity and continuity. We believe each child should develop at his or her own pace. Therefore we carefully observe what every child needs and tailor our guidance accordingly. We offer a safe, stable environment where personal attention is paramount. Each child has a dedicated mentor who maintains parent contact and monitors development. Thanks to our small scale, we know every child well and can respond quickly to individual needs. Our pedagogical programme is based on the Uk & Puk method. This structured approach stimulates Dutch language development and makes the transition to primary school smoother. We cooperate closely with IKC De Wegwijzer: children already meet the teachers and pupils during day-care hours, making the school feel familiar. Creative activities such as crafts, colouring and clay work are given plenty of attention. Children also play outside on the playground every day and regularly use the gym for games like tag and relays. Our Christian identity is expressed through prayer before meals and Bible stories. We celebrate quiet moments and teach children values such as respect, gratitude and caring for one another. Children are offered healthy food: fruit, crackers and water. Opening hours are Monday to Friday 07:30-18:00. For children aged 2-4 we also offer toddler care Monday-Thursday 08:20-12:20 or 12:45-16:45. At the start we create a settling-in plan together with parents and child, ensuring a calm and enjoyable beginning.
