Club Basker IKC – de Toorts

Welcome to BSO IKC de Toorts, part of childcare organization Zonnekinderen. We provide after-school care for up to 40 children aged 4 to 12 at our location on Marsweg 5 in Didam. Our BSO is housed within the Integral Child Center (IKC) De Toorts, giving us access to extensive facilities including the auditorium, mezzanine, playroom, computer room, and a community space with theater, cooking café and lounge. Children are cared for in two fixed base groups: Green (22 children aged 4-12) and Blue (18 children aged 7-12). Each group has its own designated area in the school hall/auditorium. Additionally, there is a special room where 7+ children may play unsupervised, provided parents have given permission. Every child has a permanent mentor who organizes annual parent meetings and serves as the primary contact for parents. After school, care begins with outdoor play. Around 3:00 PM, children go to their base group for drinks and fruit. They then choose an activity from our broad offering: Sports, Culture, Nature & Adventure, or Multimedia and Technology. Our sports, nature, multimedia and culture coaches regularly visit to conduct activities with the children. We also enjoy making trips using our own Zonnekinderen buses. For outdoor activities, we have a challenging discovery garden and large outdoor playgrounds. During school holidays and study days, we are open from 7:00 AM to 6:30 PM. We also pick up children from other schools in the Didam, Nieuw-Dijk and Loil region. This way, we provide flexible, safe and familiar care where every child feels at home.
