IKC De Schakel BSO

Welcome to IKC De Schakel BSO, located at Van Boisotstraat 20 in the heart of Vlaardingen's Westwijk district. As part of Stichting UN1EK, we provide before-school, after-school and holiday care for children aged 4 to 13 in a familiar, Christian environment. Our BSO groups use spacious, bright classrooms and a green playground where children can play, exercise and relax after school. We open our doors at 07:30 for before-school care and remain available until 18:30 for after-school care. During school holidays we run a varied holiday programme packed with sports, cultural and creative activities and fun excursions. Think crafting in the BSO rooms, football on the playground, nature and scavenger hunts around the neighbourhood, and visits to museums or sports facilities. Everything is designed to make children feel safe, challenged and inspired. Our pedagogical staff work according to the UN1EK vision: we encourage independence, cooperation and respect for each other's backgrounds. The international theme of IKC De Schakel is also reflected in the BSO; we teach children to be open to other cultures and to look at the world with understanding and curiosity. Together we create a place where every child feels at home and can grow at his or her own pace.
