BSO IKC de Saffier

Welcome to BSO IKC de Saffier, our welcoming after-school care centre in the heart of Rokkeveen, Zoetermeer. We are part of gro-up childcare and share the site with the public primary school IKC De Saffier at Electrablauw 5. Thanks to this unique location, children can come straight to us after school in complete safety; we even collect them from their classroom! With 66 places we work on a small, familiar scale so every child quickly feels at home and we really know each other. Our qualified pedagogical staff welcome children aged 4 to 12 in two horizontal age groups: middle stage (roughly grades 3-5) and upper stage (grades 6-8). Every afternoon begins with a shared moment: chatting about the school day and then enjoying healthy fruit and a drink. After that it’s time for our wide range of activities. Children choose what they enjoy: getting creative in our arts corner, taking part in sports and games in the gym or on the playground, or quietly reading in the book corner. We regularly use the school facilities such as the library and play room, and we go outside at least once a week; our own green playground borders a park-like area. We also organise themed outings and excursions during school holidays and study days – think of a visit to the petting farm, a treasure hunt in Buytenpark or a sports clinic with a local club. Quiet homework supervision is available for children who need it, taking pressure off parents at home. We take allergies and dietary requirements into account; bread meals, fruit and drinks are included. In short, at BSO IKC de Saffier we combine the security of a familiar school environment with space to play, discover and make friends. We work closely with parents and the school so your child has a smooth transition from school to after-school care and back home.
