IKC De Nieuwe Haven

Welcome to the daycare center of IKC De Nieuwe Haven, located in the heart of Feijenoord at Nassauhaven 180 in Rotterdam. As part of the Integral Child Center, we work closely with primary school De Nieuwe Haven and Peuter & Co. Together we form one organization with one vision, where childcare and education seamlessly connect. Our daycare center has three core groups that all work with a VVE program. We use Peuterplein, which perfectly connects to primary school. The baby group offers a safe environment for children aged 0-2 years, the toddler group welcomes children from 18 months to 4 years, and our vertical group is suitable for children aged 0-4 years. When transitioning between groups, we look at the individual child and consult with parents about the right timing. Our location is Lekker Fit! We offer daily physical activities, both indoors and outdoors on our safe playground. In bad weather, we use the gym and spacious hall. Children play outside every day in our natural, enclosed outdoor space with views of the Nassauhaven. Here you'll also find our vegetable garden, where children learn about growth, care, and the natural world around them. Nature plays a central role in our daily practice. This is reflected in the design of our building, our nature garden, and the themes we cover throughout the year. We work from the principle of broad development, with design-based and discovery learning at the core. With respect for what lives and for each other, we create an environment where children can learn from and with each other. Parent involvement is very important to us. We actively work together with parents and have an involved parent committee that thinks along with our policy. Together we create the best conditions for the development of each child.
