IKC De Lis

Welcome to the daycare centre of IKC De Lis, located in the heart of Rotterdam’s Liskwartier district. Our Integral Child Centre combines education, care and interaction under one roof. For children aged 0 to 4 we provide a safe, homely environment focused on development. Our experienced childcare staff guide the children on a voyage of discovery through play. Nature plays an important role: in our newly designed garden children can romp, explore and learn for hours. Even when the weather is less favourable we put on rain jackets and head outside. Language development receives a lot of attention, because mastering language opens the door to discovering the world. We work from one pedagogical vision that aligns with the primary school, creating a continuous developmental line. The group rooms are cosily furnished and offer both calm and challenge. We respect one another and what nature gives us. In a playful way we also introduce children to art, culture, science and technology. Our daycare centre is small-scale and homely; children quickly feel at home here. We provide care from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., including during school holidays. Since 21 August 2023 it is only possible to register children aged 0-2 in order to maximise the flow-through to primary school. Parental involvement is very important to us: together with parents we work on the development of their child.
