IKC De Abacus

Welcome to IKC De Abacus in Huissen, a dynamic integrated child centre where education and childcare blend seamlessly. We provide children aged 0 to 4 with a safe, warm place to grow, play and learn. Our centre is located in the heart of Huissen, in the residential area between the town centre, Binnenveld, Hofmeesterij, Loovelden and Zilverkamp. We are proud of our green, natural outdoor space where children can explore to their heart’s content. Our day-care is organised in two horizontal groups: the Koalas for babies from 0 to 2 years and the Pandas for toddlers from 2 to 4 years. Every child has a personal mentor who closely follows their development. We work in a development-oriented and thematic way, ensuring a smooth transition to primary education. For the youngest children, safety, hygiene and care are paramount; babies sleep in their own sleeping bag with a familiar cuddly toy or pacifier. Together with primary school De Abacus we form one organisation with one team of pedagogical professionals and teachers. We believe in cooperative learning, creativity and flexibility. Our spacious, fresh buildings and challenging learning environments offer calm, space and rhythm. We regularly organise excursions and nature activities, stimulate language and speech development and provide pre-school education (VVE).
