Welcome to IK-OOK peuterprogramma, located at Kindcentrum ’t Smelleken, Emmalaan 5 in Valkenswaard. We offer a small-scale, home-like VE toddler programme for up to 16 children aged 2–4. Our programme is officially recognised as pre-school education and follows the Peuterplein method: a structured yet playful curriculum that covers all seven key developmental areas every day – language, early maths, physical activity, fine motor skills, music, social-emotional development and understanding the world. Each morning follows a familiar routine built around engaging themes that match toddlers’ interests. Activities are varied and stimulating: we sing, make music, do arts & crafts, read stories and explore our safe outdoor area. The toddler group uses the school playground and has access to an 88 m² dedicated baby garden for the youngest children. Our qualified pedagogical staff work closely with the early-years teachers of OBS ’t Smelleken, ensuring a smooth transition into kindergarten and continuous development. We use horizontal grouping: all toddlers learn together, benefiting from peer interaction. During the programme (Mon–Fri 08:30–12:45 in term time) healthy snacks and drinks are provided, with allergy or dietary needs catered for.
