Hummeloord

Peuteropvang Hummeloord has been an official part of Prins Willem-Alexanderschool at Noorderhagen 80 in Rotterdam since September 1, 2002. We provide care for children from 2 years old in a safe, familiar environment that is fully tailored to the development of young children. Our location is situated in the same building as the primary school, creating a natural continuous line from toddler care to primary education. We work with horizontal groups with a maximum of 15 toddlers per group. Children attend our toddler care for a minimum of two to a maximum of five half-days per week. We use an income-dependent contribution system and parents can apply for childcare allowance through the tax authorities. For children with an 'indication for extra play and learning' from the CJG, two additional free half-days are available. Our team consists of both qualified teachers (HBO) and pedagogical staff (MBO) who work together according to the same vision and methodology. We use the development program Piramide, through which we work thematically and use the same themes as in groups 1 and 2 of the primary school. This creates a recognizable and familiar environment for the children and facilitates the transition to primary school. Our activities are specifically focused on toddler development. We offer creative activities such as crafts and drawing, stimulate language development through reading and conversations, and regularly make excursions to the library, supermarket or other interesting places in the neighborhood. These outings are an important part of our program and contribute to the broader development of the children. We have our own play area and access to the school playground. Separate sleeping areas are available where children can rest when needed. Our location is safely and child-friendly designed, based on a Protestant-Christian identity with room for everyone's life philosophy.
