Hillegonda's Tuin

Welcome to Hillegonda’s Tuin daycare, located on the car-free Minervaplein in the heart of Hillegersberg. We are a spacious, modern childcare centre with 116 places, divided across 8 fixed groups. We provide a safe, familiar and stimulating environment where children aged 0 to 4 can grow, play and discover. Our centre has 5 baby groups (0-2.5 yrs) and 3 toddler groups (2-4 yrs). Baby groups welcome up to 12–13 children, toddler groups up to 16. Children belong to one stable group and move to the next group between 2 and 2.5 years. During holidays or low attendance we may combine adjacent groups while always meeting legal staffing ratios. Our professional staff offer age-appropriate activities: singing, reading, arts & crafts and daily outdoor play. The outside area is split into three zones: a separate baby garden with artificial grass, a traffic square where children learn road rules through play, and a large sandpit with swings. Three baby groups and all toddler groups have direct access to the garden. A predictable daily rhythm gives children security. The day starts with free play, followed by fruit and a circle-time. Activities, outdoor play and a communal bread meal follow. After lunch the youngest children nap, while non-sleeping toddlers continue with play or activities. Fruit and free play finish the afternoon until pick-up. Parents stay involved through our parent app, receiving daily updates on food, care and activities. We value personal contact at drop-off and pick-up, during intake meetings and yearly parent consultations. Opening hours are 7:30 – 18:30 on all working days except public holidays. Free parking is available around the square.
