Zonnelicht aan de Oosterplas

Welcome to Zonnelicht aan de Oosterplas, our day-care centre at IJsselsingel 40A in ’s-Hertogenbosch. We provide care for up to 32 children aged 0–4 in a homely, nature-rich setting. Located right next to the Oosterplas lake, the nature playground and the children’s farm, our children can safely explore and play outdoors every day. Zonnelicht works from a Neo-Humanistic vision: love for people, animals, plants and the environment is central. Our qualified staff give every child warm, personal attention and encourage self-awareness and natural learning. We use horizontal groups so children develop in calm, age-specific settings. Babies and toddlers have their own groups with dedicated sleeping areas, bottle-feeding and changing facilities; preschoolers follow our Early Childhood Education programme focused on language, numeracy and social skills. Our activities are varied and tailored to the world of young children: we sing, craft, read aloud, bake simple treats together and take trips to the park and farm. In our own vegetable garden children learn to grow plants and vegetables, while sustainability and respect for the earth come naturally. A fixed daily rhythm offers security and regularity, yet leaves room for initiative and discovery. Parents receive daily photos and reports through our app and are always welcome to drop in for a chat or to join us for lunch. In short, at Zonnelicht aan de Oosterplas children find a second home where they can play, grow and discover themselves with joy, confidence and love.
