Welcome to Het Wijze Eiland, our daycare center located at Th. K. van Lohuizenlaan 198 in Amsterdam-Oost. We are part of Eigen&Wijzer, an organization that believes every child is unique and can develop optimally at their own pace. Our location accommodates 67 children and is divided into different age groups: two baby groups for children aged 0-2 years, a toddler group for 2-4 years, and a toddler group for 1.5-4 years. This horizontal group structure allows us to support your child's development in a targeted manner. Our professional pedagogical staff provide challenging indoor and outdoor activities that match your child's development and needs. For young children, we playfully stimulate development in areas such as language, speech, thinking, motor skills, play, and social-emotional skills. The group rooms are designed with cozy corners and challenging play materials, encouraging children to play and discover through hands-on experiences. Daily outdoor play and healthy nutrition complete our care. Our development method aligns with primary education, ensuring a smooth transition to elementary school. We don't use fixed teaching methods but offer activities that suit the unique needs of each child. Our opening hours are Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 6:30 PM.
