Het Vlindertje

Kinderdagverblijf Het Vlindertje is housed in the characteristic former school building at Lelsstraat 2, right in the centre of Alblasserdam. We provide care for children from 0 to 4 years in one vertical group, where babies, toddlers and preschoolers play and learn together. The bright, spacious classrooms and the easily accessible city-centre location make our setting a pleasant place for both children and parents. We love to play outside. Our nature garden is not a standard tiled yard; it is a varied landscape with different levels and textures—grass, sand, tree bark and water. Children can climb, explore and stimulate their senses here. In our small vegetable patch they discover how fruit and vegetables grow; whatever we harvest, we taste together later. We choose organic produce whenever possible, so everything that reaches the table is both tasty and healthy. We believe every child should feel safe, secure and respected. That is why we follow Emmi Pikler’s vision: children are given the space to move, play and learn at their own pace. We restrict their freedom of movement as little as possible and follow their natural rhythm. Our permanent, enthusiastic pedagogical staff build a close bond with each child, so your son or daughter always sees a familiar face and can develop to the fullest.
