Het Troonkasteel

Welcome to daycare centre Het Troonkasteel, part of the small-scale organisation Kinderopvang Het Kasteeltje B.V. Our location at Mr. Rinkstraat 17 in Tiel-Oost provides care for up to 12 children aged 0 to 4 years in one vertical group called the Troonzaal. Babies, toddlers and preschoolers grow together naturally, learning from and with each other. What makes us unique is our “Green Fingers” concept. Our entire garden has been transformed into a natural learning and play environment with fruit trees, natural play materials and a large vegetable garden. Together with the children we sow, tend, harvest, cook and, of course, eat our own vegetables and fruit. We spend at least two hours outside every day, whatever the weather, because fresh air and green surroundings are healthy and stimulate development. Inside we offer a rich play environment. The youngest have a cosy baby corner with soft toys and sound games; they also enjoy regular relaxing baby massages. Toddlers and preschoolers explore the construction corner with blocks and Duplo, act out role-play games in the home corner or discover educational play materials that stimulate cognitive skills. We work with the VVE programme Uk & Puk: each month is centred around a theme such as “Giants and Gnomes” or “Phew, it’s hot”. We do at least one activity every day, craft every week and organise extra challenges for children aged 3 and older. These activities often take place outdoors – with the pull-cart, the rope line or simply on the grass. Our outdoor space is fully equipped with natural materials, climbing and clambering opportunities, bikes, hoops and sidewalk chalk. Even babies have their own outdoor section so they can safely enjoy fresh air. Healthy food is part of our vision: we serve meals according to the “Five-a-day” guidelines and actively involve children in preparing the produce they have harvested themselves. Personal contact is very important to us. Through our Konnect app we share photos, videos and messages throughout the day, so you can share in and follow your child’s growth.
