Het Pienternest

Welcome to Partou Pienternest! Our daycare centre is located at Pienterpad 4 in Middenmeer, right in the Wieringermeer district. We are housed in a community school together with three primary schools, the library and the after-school care, so everything – from baby to preschooler – stays on one familiar site. We run one small-scale toddler group for up to twelve children aged 2 to 4. The group is horizontally arranged, so all children share roughly the same developmental stage. Every morning starts with a circle moment; we sing, read a picture book from the library and introduce new words. Afterwards there is plenty of room for free play, toddler yoga or music on the lap. Our pedagogical staff observe the children closely and enrich play with targeted questions and materials that match their interests. Outside we have a large, green playground with a sandpit, bikes and a playhouse. We go outside at least twice a day, even in cool weather. In the gym next to our room we can still move around when the weather is bad; think of an obstacle course or dancing to music. The nearby library is used weekly: we borrow new picture books and storytelling figures to stimulate language development. We also provide warm, fresh meals and healthy snacks. Special wishes or allergies are discussed with parents and adjusted immediately. Children sleep in a separate, quiet bedroom with cribs and blackout curtains. For babies we have cots and bottle warmers; for toddlers and preschoolers their own cuddly toy and sleeping bag from home. Parents follow their child through our own app: photos, sleep and meal times and fun anecdotes are shared daily. Each child has a fixed mentor who keeps the development file and discusses it with parents at least once a year. This way you always get a clear picture of your child’s pre-school development.
