Het Peuterhuis

Welcome to Het Peuterhuis, a warm and homely daycare centre located at Rusthuisstraat 30 in Winterswijk. We provide care for children aged 2 to 4 in a safe and calm environment where development through play, rhythm and natural materials is central. Our location is small-scale, with a maximum of 14 children per day, divided into groups of up to 8 children with a fixed caregiver. This ensures familiarity, calmness and a strong bond between child and guide. We work from an anthroposophical vision, with attention to the child as a whole: with heart, head and hands. Rhythm and regularity are key pillars in our daily structure. The morning follows a fixed routine that gives children structure and peace. We start with play, followed by a shared fruit and bread meal with organic products. Then there is time for outdoor play in our garden with grass, flowers and a large sandbox. Language development is central to our approach. We sing songs, recite rhymes and read stories. Children practise language and communication in a playful way. In addition, there is room for creative activities such as baking bread, where children help knead the dough. The smell of freshly baked bread contributes to a warm, homely atmosphere. Our toys are made from natural materials and our spaces are decorated in a cosy, homely style. We pay a lot of attention to the seasons and nature. Together with the children, we experience the rhythm of the year and discover the world around us. Het Peuterhuis is a place where children feel safe and seen, and where they can grow at their own pace.
