Het Meeuwennest

Welcome to Het Meeuwennest daycare centre, located at Hodenpijlstraat 16 in the Oosterheem district of Zoetermeer. We are part of gro-up Kinderopvang and have been providing professional childcare for children aged 0 to 4 since 2010. Our spacious location accommodates up to 86 children across four groups: a baby group (0-18 months), two mixed-age groups (1-4 years) and a 3+ group. This structure ensures every child receives care and attention suited to their stage of development. At Het Meeuwennest we believe children learn and discover through play. We use themes that connect to the child’s world to stimulate all areas of development. Our central play hall is a true play paradise, divided into corners such as a construction corner, care corner, dress-up corner and reading corner. Open shelves give children the freedom to choose what they want to play with, strengthening their autonomy and self-confidence. Outdoor play is an essential part of our day. We have a large outdoor area with climbing and play equipment, a shed full of scooters, bikes and cars, and a separate section for the youngest children. We also make regular trips to nearby playgrounds. In addition, we organise special activities such as story-time theatre during National Storytelling Week, puppet shows with Sinterklaas, toddler gym, Mud Day and other festive events around themes like Easter, Christmas and Mother’s Day. We provide pre-school education (VE) and prepare children for primary school in a playful way. Through the continuous pathway from baby group to mixed-age group and finally the 3+ group, children gradually transition to primary education.
