Het Kroontje

Kinderopvang ‘t Kroontje is a small-scale daycare centre located at De Ruyterstraat 4 in the centre of Hoogezand. We provide care for children aged 0 to 4 in two horizontal groups of 8 to 12 children, giving every baby, toddler and pre-schooler the space to develop at their own pace. Our permanent, qualified pedagogical staff create a safe and homely atmosphere in which every child feels at home. Everything we do revolves around structure, calm and familiarity. We follow a fixed daily schedule that begins with free play from 07:30 to 09:00, followed by a shared moment for water, fruit and a biscuit. After that there is time for play and discovery until 11:30, during which we offer activities such as crafts, singing, reading aloud and games, often linked to a current theme. At lunchtime the children enjoy a healthy meal, after which the youngest ones go to sleep in their own cot with personal bedding. Around 15:00 a healthy snack is served and the day ends with another play session until 18:30. Hygiene and safety are top priorities. Each child has their own sleeping place and we use only our own nappies (Kruidvat brand) and bedding. Babies receive a ‘home-and-back notebook’ until their first birthday, in which we record exactly how much they have drunk, how long they have slept and when they were changed. If children have allergies or specific dietary requirements, we naturally adapt our meals accordingly. We are situated in a quiet street with a spacious, green garden where children can play to their hearts’ content when the weather allows. Our team consists of experienced and regularly trained pedagogical staff who give children room to grow in an environment full of trust and warmth. We believe it is important for parents to stay involved; that is why we have an active parents’ committee and schedule personal settling-in days for every new child.
