Het Kleurrijk

Welcome to Daycare Het Kleurrijk, a small-scale, homely childcare centre on the edge of Twello, right next to the Martinus Church. Since 1 January 2009 we have provided care for up to 35 children in three horizontal groups: a baby group, a toddler group and a pre-school group. Our educational approach is rooted in the Reggio Emilia philosophy: we believe children can express themselves in a hundred different ways – by claying, drawing, acting, singing or simply talking. We focus on the question: "What is the child engaged with?" rather than "What shall we keep the child busy with?". Our spacious, bright group rooms are playfully and challengingly arranged so every child can discover and experience at their own pace. We have a 300 m² enclosed outdoor garden full of greenery where children can run, play and experience nature to their heart’s content. Each group has dedicated, committed pedagogical staff who closely follow your child’s development. Through photos and videos we capture all special moments in "The book of memories" – a beautiful farewell gift when your child leaves us. Creativity and language development are key elements of our programme. We organise small-scale, challenging activities (Reggio-provocations) in which children make their own choices and let their imagination run free. At the same time we stimulate language development through play, songs and conversations, so every child builds a rich vocabulary. For the very youngest we offer familiar baby care: bottle feeding, naps in separate quiet rooms and gentle care products. Older children receive healthy snacks and drinks, tailored to their needs. We believe warm contact with parents is essential. For the first introduction we are happy to visit you at home. Afterwards there is a settling-in morning so both you and your child can become familiar with our location. Together we ensure that home and childcare blend seamlessly. In short, at Het Kleurrijk children grow up in a safe, familiar environment where they can be themselves and fully discover who they are.
