Het Elfenbankje (Stichting De Wende Overasselt)

Welcome to Het Elfenbankje, a warm and small-scale daycare centre located on the quiet Schatkuilsestraat 1 in Overasselt. Since 1990, we have provided care, nurturing and guidance to up to 16 children per day, aged 3 months to 4 years. We work from an anthroposophical vision and believe that children develop best in a safe, homely environment with space for calm, rhythm and regularity. Our vertical group allows children of different ages to play together and learn from each other. This creates a cosy, family-like atmosphere and stimulates social development. We deliberately choose small-scale care, which leaves plenty of room for individual attention and tuning in to each child. Our permanent, qualified pedagogical staff are dedicated, creative and enthusiastic. Two owners work on the group themselves, ensuring we are directly involved in every aspect of care. Nature plays a central role in our daily activities. We have a beautiful garden where children can play and explore to their heart’s content. We move with the seasons and celebrate the anthroposophical annual festivals. Movement, free play and discovery form the basis for healthy development. We bake bread weekly, sing songs and work a lot with natural materials such as wood, wool and cotton. Excursions to the wooded area of Klijndijk are part of our programme. Het Elfenbankje is a recognised training company and operates in accordance with the Childcare Act. We are open all year round, except for a few public holidays and two weeks around Christmas. For children aged 2.5 to 4, we also offer a certified preschool, giving them a flying start in their development towards primary school.
