Het Bonte Huis has been an oasis of peace along the Spaarne in the heart of Haarlem for over ten years. We provide small-scale childcare in a homely atmosphere, with plenty of peace and space for creativity. Our location at Donkere Spaarne 16-z is a familiar world where children from 18 months to 4 years can fully develop themselves. With a fresh perspective on anthroposophy, we create an environment where children can grow up in harmony with themselves and the world around them. Our small group consists of a maximum of 8 children, allowing us to give each toddler and preschooler the personal attention that is so important for their development. We work with familiar faces and a homely atmosphere that feels like a second home. Our pedagogical approach is based on rhythm and recognizability. We follow the natural rhythm of the child and offer activities that match their developmental stage. Through play, singing, crafts and movement, children develop at their own pace. We use natural materials and consciously pause to reflect on the seasons and annual celebrations. We provide healthy, vegetarian meals and snacks that we purchase organically as much as possible. For children with specific dietary requirements, we can of course make adjustments. The children sleep in our quiet sleeping area, where they can rest after an active morning. As a small-scale childcare facility, we are flexible in our childcare options. We offer both full and half days of care, tailored to what best suits your family. Our team consists of experienced pedagogical staff who see and acknowledge each child in his or her unique being.
