Hestia Rivierenbuurt B.V.

Welcome to Hestia Rivierenbuurt, our warm home for children aged 0 to 4 at Uiterwaardenstraat 542 in the heart of the Rivierenbuurt. Together with a Hestia parent and architect we designed this location according to our pedagogical vision. As soon as you step inside you notice the difference: lots of wood, natural colours, bright spaces and a central Piazza where children, parents and our international team meet. The building sits on the playground of Maas & Waal school, shaded by large trees and with a big vegetable garden alongside. At Hestia we believe every child already carries everything within. We follow the child’s natural pace and draw inspiration from Reggio Emilia, Montessori and Steiner. Playing in nature is central: we go outside every day, work together in the garden and turn our harvest into fresh, warm meals. We provide bilingual childcare using the OTOL method (one teacher, one language), so children hear and learn both Dutch and English in a playful way. Through activities such as cooking, gardening and creative work with natural materials, children discover themselves and the world around them. In this way we create a safe place where every child can be themselves and grow in confidence and connection.
