Hestia Amstelland

Welcome to Hestia Amstelland, our daycare centre located at Laan van de Helende Meesters 4 in Amstelveen. Since February 27, 2017, we have been housed in a wing of the Amstelland Hospital. We take pride in our international community of parents, children and staff who together create a warm, bilingual environment. Our pedagogical vision is inspired by Reggio Emilia and follows the natural pace of each child. We bring children into daily contact with nature: we study little creatures, work in our vegetable garden and regularly take walks in the fields next door. Even in the rain, children put on their outdoor suits to enjoy the fresh air. Our discovery garden and vegetable garden are favourite spots where children learn about the world around them through play. As the first bilingual location within Hestia Childcare, we provide care in both Dutch and English. We celebrate cultural festivals and parents share dishes from their home countries, allowing children to playfully discover different cultures. Our 'home language board' at the entrance displays all languages spoken by our families at home and helps new (expat) parents quickly become part of our Hestia community. We offer flexible childcare options, including half-day care, and welcome children from 0 to 4 years old. Our location was designed by the architect who shaped all Hestia buildings, with great attention to light, space and a homely atmosphere.
