Welcome to Hero Peuteropvang Velserstraat 17, located within primary school De Ark in the heart of Haarlem. We provide a safe and homely environment for toddlers aged 2 to 4, where they can grow and develop through play. Our two rooms are warmly decorated with wooden toys, a cozy home corner, a shop, a slide, and a doll corner with a crib and stroller. Both rooms have their own door to the outdoor play area, which we share with the school. Toddlers have their own enclosed play space, allowing them to play safely outside. At our center, everything revolves around discovery, play, and learning. During circle time, we sing songs, talk about the seasons, and encourage language development. Children can choose their own books or puzzles and find a quiet spot to enjoy them. We offer preschool education (VVE), preparing toddlers for primary school in a playful way. The transition to kindergarten and later to after-school care is made as smooth as possible, as we also use the location in the afternoons for the youngest children from the BSO. We work with horizontal groups, where children are grouped by age. This provides calm and familiarity. Our pedagogical staff give each child the attention and structure they need. We believe it is important that children feel safe and at home, so they can develop optimally.
