Welcome to Helden Opvang Dorpsstraat, our daycare centre in the heart of Harmelen. We are located in a beautiful, recently fully renovated old farmhouse at Dorpsstraat 269. The characteristic farmhouse has been transformed into a warm and cosy childcare centre, decorated in the signature Scandinavian Helden Opvang style with natural materials, calm colours and homely details. As soon as you enter you feel the welcoming, homely atmosphere where parents, children and our pedagogical staff feel at home. We provide care for up to 54 children aged 0 to 4 years. Our horizontal group structure means that babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers play and sleep in separate age groups, ensuring each child receives developmentally appropriate care. The spacious, bright rooms are specially designed to meet the needs of young children: soft sleeping rooms with cots, changing areas with all necessary care items, and discovery corners where children can play and learn safely. Nature experience is central at Helden Opvang. We collaborate with a nearby farm. Our pedagogical staff regularly take the children to this farm. The farmer’s wife enthusiastically tells about life on the farm and the children can feed the animals, collect eggs and discover outdoor life. On our own premises there is also plenty of space to play outside in the secure garden with natural play equipment and sandpits. Healthy and natural nutrition is a matter of course for us. Every day we serve a fresh, warm meal prepared by Moekes Maaltijd, made entirely from organic ingredients. This meal is included in the fee. In addition, we provide healthy snacks and sufficient drinks throughout the day. Our pedagogical professionals are carefully selected, positive, enthusiastic and work according to our core values: loving and safe, natural and healthy, optimal development and challenge. We offer pre-school education (VVE) so that children develop language, numeracy and social skills through play. Through our parent app we keep parents informed of their child’s experiences with photos and short reports. Together we create a safe, loving environment every day where your child can grow and flourish.
