Welcome to Hadshoof, an agricultural daycare located right in the middle of our turkey farm at Hadsweg 3 in Weert. We, Esther van de Vorst and Thijs van Meijl, together with our five children Teun, Ries, Fien, Joep and Loes, run a daycare where children aged 0 to 4 grow up in the farming countryside. Our farm has been in the family for over a hundred years and offers a unique environment where children can literally reap the fruits of outdoor life. In our long-gabled farmhouse, which served as a residence with adjoining stables until 1973, we have created a fully renovated daycare while respecting the authentic layout. Children have the space to play, discover and grow in an informal atmosphere. We believe that the simple outdoor life, without the excess of stimuli from modern society, is essential for the healthy development of young children. Our pedagogical approach focuses on stimulating creativity and discovery through natural play. Children climb, clamber, dig, run, craft, build, cook, watch and lend a hand. Each child receives their own overalls and boots upon arrival, because getting nice and dirty is a must with us! Our spacious play area offers plenty of natural play materials such as sand hills, branches, building materials and water. The seasons partly determine our program. Together with the children we work in our vegetable garden, taste the harvest and take care of our animals: sheep, horses, cats and our farm dog. All this happens in vertical groups, where children of different ages play together and learn from each other. We love to see children discover and develop their play in their own way. Hadshoof is officially registered in the National Childcare Register under number 323469760 and offers space for a maximum of 48 children.
