Welcome to Groen Kinderdagverblijf, located at Overweg 11 in the heart of Obdam. We are a green daycare centre where children aged 0 to 4 discover the world in a safe, warm environment. Our site features a spacious 2000 m² natural garden in which children playfully learn about nature. We believe that outdoor play and greenery are essential for healthy development. That is why we take the children outside almost every day, whether for outdoor play, gardening or exploring the seasons. At Groen we work with horizontal age groups: babies and toddlers are kept separate from the preschool group so that each child receives the care and stimulation appropriate to his or her stage of development. Our baby-toddler groups offer calm, warmth and familiarity. We follow your child’s rhythm: bottle-feeding, naps and cuddles are always tailored to individual needs. The preschool group challenges children with play and activities that match their curiosity and independence. Each child is assigned a fixed pedagogical worker, creating a close bond and helping your child feel at home quickly. Our vision is simple: children learn best by doing. We do not offer rigid programmes; instead, we follow the children’s interests. One day may revolve around a mud kitchen and insect hunting, while the next features an extensive craft or baking activity. We use natural materials wherever possible and focus on sustainability. Healthy nutrition is also important: bread meals, fresh fruit and drinks are included, and we accommodate allergies and dietary requirements. Children sleep in separate bedrooms with cots and beds suited to their age. We follow a regular sleep schedule, but adjust it to your child’s needs. For the very youngest we provide playpens, bouncy chairs and baby gyms so they can play and develop safely. Parents can choose half-day or full-day care, and we are open Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Good communication with parents is important to us. There is always time for a chat at drop-off and pick-up, and we keep a parent portal where you can see what your child has experienced that day. We regularly organise parent evenings and festive events such as a Sinterklaas party, Christmas breakfast and summer BBQ. At Groen Kinderdagverblijf your child is at the centre, and we work together with you to provide pleasant, safe and green childcare.
