De Heksenketel

Welcome to after-school care De Heksenketel, a BSO location of gro-up in the Oostgaarde district of Capelle aan den IJssel. We provide care for children aged 4 to 12, offering them a safe, challenging and enjoyable place to play, discover and socialize after school. We pick up children daily from primary schools De Tweemaster and De Horizon. Our pedagogical staff members, dressed in recognizable clothing, wait at the school playground and use a name list to ensure all children are safely accounted for. For children from group 4 onwards, we ask parents for permission after approximately two months to allow children to come to BSO independently. From age 10, we expect children to be able to do this on their own. Our afternoons are filled with theme-based activities using the VE program Piramide. We offer a rich play and learning environment where children can choose from sports and games, creative activities, and quiet moments. We work with age-based groups to ensure activities align well with each child's developmental stage. During school holidays, we combine our base groups with those from BSO Villa Fantasia, Villa Wonderland and Villa Sprookjesland at the KC de Heksenketel location. We then form new groups based on age, carefully considering which group best suits each child. This provides a broad range of activities and opportunities to meet new friends. We believe it's important for children to feel safe and secure with us. Therefore, we work with consistent pedagogical staff who know the children well and provide a familiar foundation. Parents are kept informed through our parent app and receive regular newsletters with practical information and parenting tips.
