Drie Turven Hoog

Welcome to Drie Turven Hoog toddler care in Musselkanaal! We are located in the same building as the public primary school De Musselhorst and the consultation bureau. The R.C. primary school St. Antonius is also nearby. We have access to two spacious classrooms and a large hall for play activities. Additionally, we can use the primary school's playroom. Each group space has its own outdoor area with a sandbox, playhouse and slide, and there's room for cycling, running or playing with a ball. For special sports and play activities, we can use a large nearby grass field. Drie Turven Hoog toddler care has four toddler groups, a VVE (pre-school education) group and a toddler group. Each group has two pedagogical staff members and a regular volunteer. We work according to Startblokken, a development-oriented VVE program. This program stimulates the child's total development. Themes are started based on a number of starter activities, and we observe what appeals to the children, what they find fun and interesting. We continue on that path to create the greatest possible involvement with the children. Play is always central. Through core activities, all developmental areas are covered and we try to create a challenging, rich play-learning environment. Also with the help of parents, by involving them in the theme and asking if they have any materials, photos or ideas. Each theme lasts approximately six to eight weeks. Every week, children may choose a new book together with the volunteer. This 'book fun' book may be borrowed for a week and each week one child may take the book bear home for a sleepover.
