BSO Drakenfort, location Zwerfkei in Malden is housed in the same building as primary school De Tovercirkel. Children in grades 1 through 5 of De Tovercirkel can simply walk down the hallway after school and step straight into our after-school care. We welcome children aged 4 to 8 and have room for 34 children. Our spaces are deliberately arranged by age. Younger children stay on the ground floor, while the older ones use the first floor. This way, children play with peers and we can tailor activities to their developmental level. We use De Tovercirkel’s playgrounds for daily outdoor fun—football, running and romping are all part of the routine. A typical afternoon starts with a shared moment: first a snack and a drink, then each child chooses what to do. Crafts, board games, cooking in our kitchen or a quick football match? We believe every child should do what they enjoy. When the weather is poor, we use the school gym for active games. On Wednesday and Friday afternoons and during all school holidays, we bring the children together at Drakenfort Broeksingel. Our pedagogical staff pick the children up at De Tovercirkel and take them to this location on Broeksingel, ensuring plenty of space and variety. Our dedicated team of pedagogical staff is ready every day to give the children a safe, familiar and challenging afternoon. We work closely with De Tovercirkel’s teachers so the transition from school to after-school care is seamless.
