Doomijn Peuteropvang Mussenhage

Doomijn Peuteropvang Mussenhage is located in the welcoming neighbourhood centre ‘Ons Eigen Huis’, right in the Kamperpoort district on the edge of Zwolle’s city centre. We provide small-scale, horizontal groups for a maximum of 16 toddlers aged 2 to 4. Registered in the National Childcare Register since 4 August 2017 under number 290903336, we work closely with the municipality of Zwolle and GGD IJsselland. Every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday morning from 8:15 to 12:15 our qualified pedagogical professionals Andrea, Mieke and Martha create a safe and stimulating play-and-learn environment. We follow a continuous Early Childhood Education programme that delivers 960 hours of pre-school education; children receive 16 hours per week spread over 40 weeks a year. Themes such as ‘People’ come to life through pictograms, daily-rhythm cards and a rich range of development-oriented materials. Exploring through play, language stimulation, early numeracy and social-emotional growth are central. The rooms are furnished like a home and offer visible, accessible materials that match the toddlers’ interests and developmental levels. We use take-home theme sheets so that home and childcare reinforce each other. When children move on to primary school group 1-2, we use the Zwolle transfer form; parents sign it and hand it in at school. Each morning we close the session together with parents, sharing what the children have discovered and created.
