DONS Notenkraker Dependance

DONS Notenkraker Dependance is our after-school care location at Woestduinstraat 14 in Amsterdam. Registered as an independent site since January 2023, we provide care for up to 60 children from De Notenkraker primary school. We open at 14:45 on regular school days and close at 18:30. During study and holiday days we welcome children from 8:00 to 18:30. From September 2024 we are also open on Wednesday afternoons from 12:30 to 18:30. Our qualified staff – Amber, Mies, Naomi, Jilke, Judith, Sebastiaan, Suus, Winja, Elodie and Auke – all hold degrees in creative disciplines such as visual arts, music, gymnastics and dance. Assistant location manager Talitha leads the dependance together with location manager Adèle to create a safe and stimulating environment. We use two playrooms, the BeVo classroom and the Central Hall of De Bockesprong, specially designed for our youngest pupils and offering ample space for creative expression and movement. Our parent committee – Marlies van Uhm, Fran Boon and Nadia Scherpenhuijzen – actively contributes to quality and policy discussions. DONS started at De Notenkraker in 2011 and exclusively serves children from this school. We welcome children aged 4 to 12 and offer a programme centred on theatre, dance and music. We believe creative development goes hand in hand with personal growth and enjoyment.
