Don Bosco

Don Bosco After-School Care is located at Burgerhoutsestraat 23 in the centre of Roosendaal. Since 1 December 2023 the programme has been part of Kober childcare in partnership with WijZijn. The after-school provision welcomes up to 30 children aged 4-12 and is specifically designed for youngsters who (temporarily) need extra guidance in growing up and parenting. We believe in preventive support. Our pedagogical staff draw up an individual plan with every child and family that matches the support question. This may involve strengthening social skills, increasing resilience or simply offering relief in the home situation. All activities are aimed at giving children concrete skills so that, in time, they can continue under their own steam in their own neighbourhood. In addition to on-site care, children and parents can also receive outreach support. If desired, we visit families at home and think along about practical parenting solutions. Parents can come to us with any question; together we look at what the child needs. Our slogan is: “At Don Bosco we stand strong together.” Don Bosco works intensively with schools, the municipality and other (youth) organisations. This inter-professional collaboration ensures that every child receives the right tailor-made support. The municipality of Roosendaal has granted a multi-year subsidy for “methodical group work” for the period 2024-2027, enabling us to continue and further develop our activities.
