SKSG Dolfijn

Welcome to SKSG Dolfijn, a homely daycare centre right in the heart of Groningen. We are housed in a former infant school at Witte de Withstraat 18, tucked between residential buildings yet within walking distance of the central station and Stadspark. Our location welcomes up to 96 children and consists of four group rooms plus a spacious central hall where children meet and play. The jewel in our crown is our secluded inner garden: a safe, green oasis where we explore and adventure every single day. At SKSG Dolfijn a close-knit team of permanent pedagogical staff care for every baby, toddler and pre-schooler. We value short lines of communication with parents and share the day’s highlights through the SKSG app. For the youngest ones we have a separate baby garden with its own sandbox and shaded spots. In the Lutjepotje outdoor sleeping cabins children nap peacefully in the fresh air, soothed by natural sounds. Toddlers love dragging around natural play materials, helping in our raised vegetable beds to pick strawberries and balancing on homemade beams. Every activity is designed to foster development: motor skills, language, self-confidence and social abilities. We provide daycare, playgroup sessions and a 3+ group for the oldest toddlers. In the 3+ group we practise cutting, dressing and counting, but above all we build self-confidence and independence so the transition to primary school is smooth. All activities are embedded in our VVE programme (pre- and early-school education) and we regularly go on outings, for example to the petting zoo in Stadspark. Healthy, active and sustainable are the pillars of our childcare. Each child is given the space to become themselves, because the most beautiful thing you can be is you. Opening hours: Monday to Friday 07:30 – 18:00. Half-day care is available.
