Dikkertje Dap Beverwaard

Dikkertje Dap Beverwaard is our small-scale daycare centre located in the Beverwaard district of Rotterdam. We provide full-day ‘Plus’ care for up to 5 children aged 1 to 4 years, organised in a single group. The centre is situated at Fleringenstraat 73 and is part of the Van Veldhuizen Foundation, with whom we have been supporting children and families in Rotterdam for more than 60 years. Our Kinderopvang Plus is designed for vulnerable children and their families. We follow our own methodology in which we not only care for the child but also actively involve the family. Each group of up to 10 children is guided by two qualified pedagogical staff members. In addition, a Family Adviser and a Pedagogical Consultant work closely with parents and the child’s support network. We hold at least three case meetings per year to discuss your child’s development, always in consultation with you. Admission is arranged through a referral from the GGD. The placement typically lasts 9 to 12 months, after which we work with you to determine the most suitable next step, such as a regular playgroup or primary school. Our approach is intensive and aims to set both child and family development in motion. We provide early-years education and use programmes such as ‘Samen voor Taal’ to stimulate language development.
