Welcome to Dikke Maatjes Kinderopvang Orionweg, our largest daycare centre in Haarlem-Noord. We provide care for up to 57 children aged 0 to 4 years, divided across four vertical groups and a separate baby group for children from 0 to approximately 1.5 years. This arrangement allows us to give every child the individual attention they deserve while still enjoying the benefits of a larger, vibrant community. Our location at Orionweg 77 is spacious and perfectly suited for young children. The bright, colourful rooms are carefully designed and connected through a central hall, enabling children to move and explore safely. We have created various corners, such as a doll corner, reading corner and construction corner, to stimulate the children’s curiosity and creativity. All play, craft and reading materials are placed at eye level so that children can choose what they want to do and develop their own initiative. At Dikke Maatjes we believe a homely and familiar environment is essential. Therefore, we have paid great attention to the interior: soft colours on walls, floors and ceilings create calm and balance the bright colours of the toys. This approach contributes to a pleasant atmosphere in which children quickly feel at home. Our experienced and permanent team of pedagogical staff is ready every day to guide the children with love and respect in their development. As an additional service we offer a toddler-plus group for children aged 2.5 to 4 years. These children are temporarily taken out of their own group and participate in age-specific activities in the after-school care rooms. This system, in which a maximum of 16 children take part under the guidance of two pedagogical staff members, is highly appreciated by parents, the GGD and the children themselves. It also eases the later transition to after-school care. Our location is open Monday to Friday from 07:30 to 18:30. We meet all national quality requirements and are supervised by the GGD Kennemerland. Childcare allowance is available and we operate a waiting list.
