Diedel Dumpie

Welcome to Diedel Dumpie, a small-scale daycare centre in the heart of Edam. We are located in a characteristic former school building on a quiet inner courtyard, right in the centre of this historic town. We offer care for up to 32 children per day, divided into two vertical groups. This means children aged 0 to 4 play and learn together in one group; we do not operate separate baby groups. This setup allows brothers and sisters to stay together and encourages natural interaction between children of different ages. Our approach is built on three core values: cosiness and safety, full attention for every child, and a stable, dedicated team. We believe children develop best in a familiar environment with familiar faces. Therefore, we work exclusively with permanent pedagogical staff who really get to know your child. The atmosphere is homely and warm, with plenty of room for individual initiative and development at each child’s own pace. We are open Monday to Friday from 7:45 AM to 6:30 PM. We are closed on official public holidays, the period between Christmas and New Year’s, and the day after Ascension Day.
