Welcome to Deutscher Internationaler Kindergarten Den Haag B.V., the only German-Dutch day-care centre in The Hague, located at Van Bleiswijkstraat 125. We provide care for up to 51 children from the age of 2 in a safe, loving environment where your child will feel at home from the very first day. Our day-care is part of the German International School of The Hague (DISDH) and follows a holistic pedagogical concept that blends the strengths of German early-years education with an international outlook. Most of our highly qualified, state-approved educators were trained in Germany and bring extensive experience. A Dutch educator completes the team, enabling truly bilingual care in German and Dutch. The daily rhythm is child-centred and predictable. We start with a communal welcome song, after which the children meet in fixed small groups with their trusted key worker for the morning circle. A second breakfast in self-chosen groups is followed by free play, projects and adventures: building, music, arts and crafts, cooking, reading and outdoor exploration. Our organic lunch is enjoyed together, after which quiet time with stories, drawing or a nap is offered. In the afternoon we continue the morning projects or go on excursions to the forest or the school library. The day ends with a healthy snack and a reflection on the day’s experiences. Cultural exchange is woven into everyday life: German traditions and festivals are celebrated, Dutch customs are integrated, and the home cultures of all families are valued. This fosters respect and openness towards other cultures from an early age. Our site includes its own garden and playground, and we serve organic meals and snacks daily. Enrolment is possible throughout the year, with a gentle, individual settling-in period.
